        "content": "<p>A member of the Highway Patrol Unit (Sat PJR) of the Polda Metro Jaya\nTraffic Directorate, Aipda Endang Karyana, died in the line of duty\nfollowing a traffic accident on the Joglo Toll Road heading towards\nPondok Pinang, Jakarta, on Friday (3\/7).<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate\u2019s PJR Unit, AKBP\nRieki Indra Brata Manggala, confirmed the incident in a statement in\nJakarta on Saturday. \u201cThe victim was pronounced dead by the medical team\nat the Kramat Jati Police Hospital on Friday afternoon at 15.11 WIB due\nto the severe injuries he sustained,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Rieki explained that the tragic event occurred on Friday (3\/7)\nmorning at around 10.50 WIB. The incident began when Aipda Endang was\nproviding assistance to the driver of a light truck with registration\nnumber AD 8974 WW, which had suffered a technical fault in the middle of\nthe toll road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, suddenly, from the direction of Tangerang, an Isuzu Wing\nBox truck with police number B 9663 TXW was speeding along. The truck\nstruck the rear tyre of the light truck that the victim was attending\nto,\u201d said Rieki. The violent impact caused the light truck to be\nforcefully shunted to the left, directly hitting Aipda Endang Karyana.\nAs a result of the collision, the victim suffered severe injuries,\nparticularly to his right leg.<\/p>\n<p>Officers at the scene immediately evacuated the victim to the Kramat\nJati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for emergency medical treatment.\nHowever, after several hours of intensive care, the life of the police\nofficer, who was born in Garut in 1978, could not be saved.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic for the West Jakarta Metro Police,\nKompol Reza Hafiz Gumilang, stated that the truck driver, identified by\nthe initials YN (47), has been detained. \u201cThe truck driver is detained\nbecause he was drowsy, causing him to hit the truck that had broken\ndown,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
