        "content": "<p>Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang (PNUP) Makassar has taken firm action\nagainst a lecturer from the Accounting Department with the initials IS,\nwho has been found to have committed sexual harassment against three\nfemale students on campus.<\/p>\n<p>In its official statement, the university stated that the handling of\nthe case refers to Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and\nTechnology Regulation No.\u00a055 of 2024 on the Prevention and Handling of\nViolence in Higher Education (PPKPT).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the results of the examination and recommendations from the\nTask Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence (Satgas PPK) at\nPNUP through letter No.\u00a001\/KS.RI\/PPK\/2026 dated 16 April 2026, the\nlecturer with initials IS has been declared to have committed acts of\nsexual violence that have impacted the psychological condition, sense of\nsafety, and dignity of the victims,\u201d said PNUP Makassar\u2019s Public\nRelations Officer, Rita, on Tuesday (12\/5).<\/p>\n<p>Rita explained that PNUP has undertaken several concrete steps in\naddressing the case, from receiving the report, providing initial\nsupport to the victims, conducting examinations and investigations, to\nsecuring evidence related to the alleged harassment.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Satgas PPKS has provided recommendations for firm\nsanctions to the university leadership based on the examination\nresults.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PNUP Director then issued Decision Letter\nNo.\u00a0693\/DST\/PL10\/KP.04.04\/2026 on 20 April 2026, which establishes the\ntemporary deactivation of IS from all academic duties,\u201d she\nrevealed.<\/p>\n<p>This deactivation includes teaching activities, supervision, and\nexamination of final assignments or theses for students, as well as all\nother activities directly involving students.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, through Written Warning Letter\nNo.\u00a0741\/DST\/PL10.KP.04.05\/2026 dated 23 April 2026, the university has\nalso prohibited IS from entering campus areas 1 and 2 and from carrying\nout any activities in the PNUP environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a further disciplinary sanction, PNUP has imposed an\nadministrative penalty in the form of a reduction in academic rank on\nthe perpetrator through the Director\u2019s Decision Letter No.\u00a01211\/P\/2026\ndated 1 May 2026. IS\u2019s previous rank of Lecturer has been downgraded to\nAssistant Expert for 12 months,\u201d she clarified.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the university has assured that the three victims will\nreceive psychological support through a trauma healing programme to aid\ntheir recovery following the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The university, according to Rita, has conducted internal\ncoordination with the polytechnic leadership, the Accounting Department,\nand the Student Executive Board (BEM) to ensure that the case handling\nproceeds comprehensively, justly, and with a focus on victim\nrecovery.<\/p>",
