        "content": "<p>PNG's deputy PM dumped in reshuffle<\/p>\n<p>PAPUA NEW GUINEA: Deputy Prime Minister Allan Marat was one of<br>\ntwo ministers dropped from Papua New Guinea's Cabinet on<br>\nWednesday in a reshuffle.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Michael Somare said the changes were aimed at<br>\nstrengthening the ruling coalition ahead of an important<br>\nparliamentary vote. Marat was dropped after he was dismissed as<br>\nthe head of a party in the coalition.<\/p>\n<p>Parliament is considering ambitious constitutional changes,<br>\nwhich would better protect the government from frequent no-<br>\nconfidence votes. Labor Minister Peter Yama, who had opposed the<br>\nchanges, was also fired.<\/p>\n<p>Former fisheries minister Andrew Baing has been appointed<br>\ndeputy prime minister, Paul Tiensten took over the trade<br>\nministry, formerly held by the deputy prime minister, and Tom<br>\nTomiape was appointed as minister of labor. -- AFP<\/p>",
