PM Goh to visit Jakarta<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong will make
\na two-day working visit to Indonesia beginning on Thursday,
\nMinister\/State Secretary Moerdiono said yesterday.<\/p>\n
Moerdiono did not mention any specific topic to be discussed
\nby Goh during his meeting with President Soeharto, adding that
\nthe two leaders will likely discuss various bilateral, regional
\nand international matters.<\/p>\n
He stressed that because of the informality of the visit,
\nthere would be no specific agenda or schedule during Goh's stay
\nin the country.<\/p>\n
To explain the significance of the visit, Moerdiono simply
\nstated: "The informal meeting is deemed necessary because of the
\ndynamic developments in the world."<\/p>\n
He added that the leaders of the Association of Southeast
\nAsian Nations have agreed to periodically schedule informal
\nmeetings among themselves.<\/p>\n
Soeharto and Goh last met in November at the leadership
\nmeeting during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in
