PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Jawa Barat has once\nagain demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through the\n\u201cTerang Berkah Ramadan 2026\u201d programme, centred at the PLN UP3 Bandung\noffice on Friday, 6 March 2026.<\/p>\n
The initiative forms part of PLN\u2019s Social and Environmental\nResponsibility (TJSL) programme, which aims to support food security\nwhilst expanding electricity access for disadvantaged communities across\nWest Java.<\/p>\n
The programme was officially opened by Senior Manager for\nCommunication and General Affairs at PLN UID West Java, Krisantus H\nSetyawan, accompanied by Manager of PLN UP3 Bandung, Donna Sinatra. Also\npresent were the Secretary of Regol Sub-District, Tantan Haryanto, the\nHead of Ciseureuh Village, Tantan Sukanda, and representatives from the\nlocal police and military command.<\/p>\n
Krisantus stated that the programme represents PLN\u2019s genuine\ncommitment to the community, particularly during Ramadan, a month\nsynonymous with the spirit of sharing. He noted that Ramadan is the\nideal time for giving, and through the Terang Berkah Ramadan programme,\nPLN is providing 1,200 affordable food packages to residents across\nRegol Sub-District, including the villages of Ciseureuh, Balonggede,\nCigareleng, Pasirluyu, and Ciateul, as well as to contract workers\nwithin PLN.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to ensure that PLN\u2019s presence not only brings electrical\nlight, but also brings the energy of happiness to those in need,\u201d\nKrisantus said in a statement on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.<\/p>\n
The initiative also received praise from Regol Sub-District\nSecretary, Tantan Haryanto, who recognised that PLN\u2019s programme provides\nsubstantial help to communities, especially amid rising needs during\nRamadan. \u201cWe are deeply grateful to PLN UID West Java for its concern\ntowards the residents of Regol Sub-District. These affordable food\npackages significantly help ease the economic burden on our people. We\nhope such collaboration continues for the welfare of our residents,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
A notable feature of the programme is the subsidised food package\npriced at Rp 70,000, which includes 5 kilograms of rice, 1 litre of\ncooking oil, and 1 kilogram of sugar. Beyond providing immediate relief\nto communities, 100 per cent of all proceeds from food sales will be\nreturned to fund new electricity connection programmes for public\nfacilities and homes of low-income residents.<\/p>\n
Aten Setiawan, 46, a resident of Ciseureuh Village, expressed deep\nappreciation for the programme. \u201cPraise be to God, the food prices are\nfar cheaper than at the market. I am delighted to know that the money we\npay will be used by PLN to help install free electricity in schools or\nplaces of worship. So it feels like we are shopping cheaply whilst also\ncontributing through charity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Through the Terang Berkah Ramadan 2026 programme, PLN hopes to\ncontinue strengthening collaboration with local government,\nstakeholders, and communities.
