A number of companies continue to strengthen the culture of workplace\nsafety within their organisations. PT PLN (Persero) West Java Main\nDistribution Unit (UID) is undertaking the same effort.<\/p>\n
The result is that throughout the first half of 2026, the company\nrecorded zero workplace accidents (Zero Accident). This achievement\nreflects the consistency of PLN UID West Java in strengthening its\nworkplace safety culture. The effort is carried out through the\nimplementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)\nstandards across all operational lines.<\/p>\n
\u201cSafety culture is an inseparable part of every work process at PLN\nUID West Java. Through the disciplined application of safety standards\nand comprehensive risk control, the company continues to build a safe\nworking environment for all workers, both employees and work partners,\u201d\nsaid PLN West Java General Manager Muhammad Joharifin on Monday (13\nJuly).<\/p>\n
This commitment is realised through various ongoing programmes,\nincluding safety briefings before work begins, the implementation of the\nContractor Safety Management System (CSMS), Safety Alignment, Safety\nCommittees, hazard identification, risk assessment and control (IBPPR),\nand the strengthening of an integrated HSSE management system.<\/p>\n
In addition, PLN UID West Java routinely conducts employee health\nchecks, safety training and education, evaluations of occupational\nhealth and safety implementation across all work units, as well as\nmonitoring and reporting as part of continuous improvement.<\/p>\n
For this achievement, PLN UID West Java received recognition in the\nform of the Zero Accident Award for the First half of 2026 from the\nDistribution Director of PT PLN (Persero), Arsyadany Ghana Akmalaputri.\nThe award was presented on Thursday (9 July) and received directly by\nthe General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Muhammad Joharifin.<\/p>\n
NOT THE FINAL GOAL<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Joharifin said the Zero Accident achievement is not\nmerely a performance indicator, but the result of a safety culture that\nis continuously built and consistently practised by everyone in the\ncompany.<\/p>\n
\u201cZero Accident is not the final goal, but rather the result of the\ndiscipline, care and commitment of everyone at PLN UID West Java in\nembedding workplace safety as a culture. Every job must begin by\nensuring all potential risks have been identified and controlled. That\nway, officers can work safely and the public continues to receive\noptimal electricity services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that success in building a safety culture can only be\nachieved if every individual in the company has the courage to remind\none another, to care for one another, and to intervene when they see\npotential hazards.<\/p>\n
Safety, he said, must not be viewed as an administrative obligation\nor merely fulfilling procedures. Safety is a moral responsibility of\nevery worker.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we work safely, we are not only protecting ourselves, but also\nsafeguarding the families waiting for us to come home. Therefore, a\nculture of compliance, care and responsiveness must continue to be part\nof the mindset and behaviour of everyone at PLN UID West Java,\u201d\nJoharifin asserted.<\/p>\n
