        "content": "<p>State electricity company PT PLN (Persero) has successfully restored\n11 substations on Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, following the\nmagnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck on Saturday morning (15\nAugust).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main electricity supply for Flores is back to normal. Our\ncurrent focus is ensuring that power can reach communities in all areas\nstill affected. PLN teams continue working to repair and replace damaged\nnetwork infrastructure, including poles and distribution networks,\u201d said\nPLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in an official statement\nconfirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>As of Sunday evening (16 August), most of the distribution network\nhad resumed operations. However, 29 villages out of a total of 1,557\nhave yet to be restored due to limited access, with several locations\nstill isolated as a result of the earthquake and landslides.<\/p>\n<p>Darmawan explained that the current recovery challenge is repairing\ndistribution networks close to customers, which remain hampered by\nblocked access.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are still several hamlets and customer points that we are\nworking to restore. Some are constrained by access due to post-disaster\nconditions, and some remain isolated. We continue to seek the best\naccess routes so that teams can enter and carry out repairs\nimmediately,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Darmawan, PLN is not only pursuing speed of recovery but\nalso ensuring that every network to be restored meets electrical safety\nrequirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn conditions like this, we must move quickly, but we cannot ignore\nsafety. Every network to be energised must first be confirmed safe, both\nfor the public and for personnel. Therefore, the recovery process is\ncarried out in stages according to conditions on the ground,\u201d said\nDarmawan.<\/p>\n<p>General Manager of PLN\u2019s East Nusa Tenggara Regional Main Unit, F.\nEko Sulistyono, said PLN personnel remain on standby at several affected\nlocations to carry out assessments, repairs and network restoration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to strive to complete all work as quickly as possible\nwhile paying attention to security conditions on the ground,\u201d said\nEko.<\/p>",
