        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources (ESDM) has set the electricity tariffs for PT PLN (Persero)\nfor the second quarter of 2026, the period from April to June 2026, to\nremain unchanged or without any adjustments.<\/p>\n<p>This means that PLN\u2019s electricity tariffs from 1 May 2026 will not\nsee an increase. This policy is implemented to maintain public\npurchasing power and support national industrial competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>The Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of ESDM,\nTri Winarno, explained that the decision underwent a thorough evaluation\nof macroeconomic parameters in accordance with applicable\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public need not worry, as the Government has set the electricity\ntariffs for the second quarter of 2026 to remain stable. This\ndetermination is made to protect public purchasing power. The Government\nalso urges the public to use electricity efficiently and wisely as part\nof collective efforts to support national energy resilience,\u201d said Tri\nin Jakarta in a written statement citing PLN\u2019s official website, quoted\non Friday (1\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Adjustments to electricity tariffs for non-subsidised customers are\nbased on Ministry of ESDM Regulation Number 7 of 2024, with periodic\nevaluations every three months based on changes in exchange rates, ICP,\ninflation, and HBA.<\/p>\n<p>It is stated that for the second quarter of 2026, the parameters used\nare realisations from the period of November 2025 to January 2026,\nnamely an exchange rate of Rp16,743.46 per US dollar, ICP of US$62.78\nper barrel, inflation of 0.22 percent, and HBA of US$70 per tonne.<\/p>\n<p>Although the formula indicates potential tariff changes, the\nGovernment has decided to maintain electricity tariffs to ensure\nnational economic stability amid global dynamics. This policy also\napplies to subsidised customers who will continue to receive unchanged\ntariffs.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PLN\u2019s President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, stated that\nPLN is ready to implement the Government\u2019s policy while ensuring the\nreliability of electricity supply for all customers, especially amid the\ndynamics and uncertainties of global geopolitical conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the midst of dynamic global geopolitical conditions, we\nappreciate the Government\u2019s step to maintain electricity tariff\nstability for the second quarter of 2026.
