        "content": "<p>PT PLN (Persero) President Director Darmawan Prasodjo has confirmed\nthat rolling blackouts in Java ended on 21 June 2026, with the company\nnow focused on strengthening system reliability to prevent future\ndisruptions. \u201cThe electricity system condition in Java has seen no more\nrolling blackouts since 21 June 2026,\u201d Darmawan stated during a hearing\nwith Commission XII of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on\nThursday, 2 July 2026. He explained that the grid reinforcement was\ncarried out under the direction of the Minister of Energy and Mineral\nResources through several measures to maintain supply reliability in\nJava. One key step was the allocation of additional medium to\nhigh-calorie coal, specifically a minimum of 4,500 kilocalories,\nprepared exclusively for PLN. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources provided an extra 1.8 million tonnes of supply in July, beyond\nthe regular allocation. From August to December 2026, the additional\ncoal supply will reach 3 million tonnes per month, increasing the\nsystem\u2019s capacity by approximately 5 gigawatts above the existing 35.9\nGW. Darmawan noted that this additional supply has made the Java\nelectricity system more reliable than before. He also revealed that an\nextra 4.6 GW of power supply will come online in 2027, further\nstrengthening the Java grid. He pointed out that national coal\nproduction is currently dominated by low-calorie coal, while production\nof medium and high-calorie coal continues to decline. \u201cWith this, the\nelectricity supply constraints that previously occurred in Java have\nbeen resolved and the rolling blackouts have been successfully\naddressed,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
