PT PLN (Persero) views the development of the data centre ecosystem\nas one of the important pillars in the national economic\ntransformation.<\/p>\n
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT PLN (Persero) has completed the electrical\ninfrastructure for Microsoft\u2019s Data Center in the Greenland\nInternational Industrial Center (GIIC), Deltamas City, Cikarang, and\nKarawang International Industrial City (KIIC), West Java.<\/p>\n
\u201cPLN views the development of the data centre ecosystem as one of the\nimportant pillars in the national economic transformation,\u201d said PLN\u2019s\nDirector of Project Management and New Renewable Energy, Suroso\nIsnandar, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The completion of this High Voltage Consumer (KTT) project represents\nthe company\u2019s commitment to supporting the data centre industry sector\nwhile strengthening Indonesia\u2019s position as one of the centres for\ndigital economic growth in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n
Through PLN\u2019s Central Java Regional Development Business Unit (UIP\nJBT) and PLN Project Management Centre (Pusmanpro), the construction and\noperation of the 150 kilovolt (kV) Microsoft Data Center Bay Substation\nLine JKT 11 A & B in the GIIC area, Cikarang, has been\ncompleted.<\/p>\n
At another location, the construction of the 150 kV KIIC\nII\/Margakarya Substation Line JKT 09 and JKT 02, which will supply the\nelectricity needs of PT Microsoft Operation Indonesia in the KIIC area,\nhas also been successfully completed.<\/p>\n
Suroso emphasised that the completion of this project is part of\nPLN\u2019s strategic steps in strengthening Indonesia\u2019s role as a centre for\ndigital economic growth in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n
This success, according to Suroso, is an important milestone in\nproviding reliable electricity supply for international-standard data\ncentres.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we are preparing electrical infrastructure that is not\nonly reliable but also adaptive to the evolving needs of the digital\nindustry,\u201d said Suroso.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the General Manager of PLN\u2019s Central Java Regional\nDevelopment Business Unit (UIP JBT), Kishartanto Purnomo Putro, stated\nthat fulfilling national electricity needs is PLN\u2019s responsibility\nacross every sector, including the rapidly growing digital industry.<\/p>\n
\u201c24-hour electricity reliability is not just a need, but the main\nfoundation for world-class data centre operations. PLN is ready to\nprovide stable, safe, and sustainable electricity supply to support\nnon-stop digital activities,\u201d said Kishartanto.<\/p>\n
He added that the trust shown by Microsoft as a global technology\ncompany is an indicator of Indonesia\u2019s capacity on the international\nstage, which also boosts the wheels of investment in both local and\nnational scales.<\/p>\n
