PT PLN (Persero) has presented the highest appreciation to media\nprofessionals through the PLN Journalist Awards (PJA) 2025, marking the\nsixth edition of the annual competition.<\/p>\n
Under the theme \u201cSovereign Energy for a Strong Indonesia\u201d, the awards\ncompetition successfully attracted 1,329 journalistic works from across\nIndonesia, with eighteen pieces selected as winners.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s participation increased nearly threefold compared to\n2020, which recorded 460 submissions.<\/p>\n
PLN Chief Executive Darmawan Prasodjo stated that media professionals\nare strategic partners in building public understanding of the national\nenergy transformation and transition agenda. \u201cMedia plays a fundamental\nrole in ensuring that accurate, balanced information reaches the public.\nThrough the PLN Journalist Awards, we aim to strengthen this\ncollaboration and provide equal space for recognition to journalists\nacross Indonesia,\u201d said Darmawan.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that amid PLN\u2019s transformation process and the\nacceleration of energy transition towards Net Zero Emissions (NZE), open\nand credible communication is an important foundation for building\npublic trust.<\/p>\n
In response to increased participation, PLN introduced a new scheme\nthis year called \u201cIndonesia Top 100 Journalists\u201d, which divides\nparticipants into three regional categories: West Java, East Java, and\noutside Java. This scheme is designed to expand participation access\nwhilst ensuring equitable recognition for journalists throughout\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Gregorius Adi Trianto, Executive Vice President for Corporate\nCommunications and Corporate Social Responsibility at PLN, explained\nthat all submitted works underwent rigorous and tiered selection\nprocesses to guarantee objectivity and quality assessment. \u201cAll 1,329\nsubmissions went through curatorial and multi-layered assessment by\njuries across different platforms. We ensure that every work is\nevaluated professionally based on journalistic quality, depth of issues,\nand public impact,\u201d explained Gregorius.<\/p>\n
Eighteen journalists were ultimately selected as winners across six\ncategories: Single Photo, Photo Story, Video Hard News, Video Feature,\nText Hard News, and Text Feature.<\/p>\n
