Please save their lives

Indonesian judges should not follow the tracks of the
Singapore government, which hung Van Ngu Yen. The breath of life
of somebody belongs to the Creator, regardless of their mistake
or crimes.

Van Ngu Yen reformed in the last three years of his life in
Changi prison in Singapore, yet the Singapore government executed
him, using the excuse that we must abide by the law of the
country. The government of Singapore, as well as Indonesia, has
to abide by the law of God, who says: "Thou shall not kill."

Of course we should abide by the laws of a country, however
the governments of the world should not produce drugs in the
first place, which tempts young people into becoming involved in
drug trafficking.

The governments of the world, including Singapore and
Indonesia, will be responsible to God for ending these lives,
which were created by God. Indonesian judges, who claim to
believe in God, should stop using Singapore as an excuse to take
the lives of nine young alleged drug traffickers.

Do not kill these young people. Once they are imprisoned they
will suffer enough and will reform themselves. Indonesia should
start performing "restorative justice", to save the lives of
others. Then I, as an Indonesian, will not be ashamed to be
Indonesian.

Please pass this on to the judges in Bali, who will
prosecute those nine young Australians. Will those judges take
the lives of their own brothers or sisters?

Please consider that our nation will suffer when we take the
lives of those young nine Australians. They key is to forgive
them.

Imprisonment for years would be a better penalty and more
honorable than ending their lives. May God help the judges of
Bali to uphold the law of God.

CAMELIA PARDEDE, Auckland, New Zealand
",
