        "content": "<p>Fire at a plastic warehouse on Jalan Peternakan Raya in Kapuk,\nCengkareng, West Jakarta, reignited on Sunday evening (24 May 2026). The\nincident occurred shortly after fire department units were withdrawn\nfrom the scene. One local resident, Tuti, said the fire had been\nextinguished and the area was deemed safe by Sunday afternoon. But the\ncalm was short-lived as the fire reignited around 8pm WIB. Local\nresidents panicked upon seeing flames reignite from the rubble. \u2018It\nsuddenly flared up again, lots of smoke. We residents were shocked, had\nto call the firefighters again, they came back but it\u2019s still not under\ncontrol,\u2019 said Tuti. Now, a week after the initial fire, fire department\npersonnel are still working to extinguish the flames. Danang Darul\nFadli, Head of Operational Facilities at West Jakarta Fire Department,\nconfirmed that his team had withdrawn personnel from the scene on Sunday\nafternoon. He said the decision was made as the firefighting process was\ndeemed complete and no visible flames remained. Currently, the fire\ndepartment is requesting the warehouse owner to provide an excavator to\nassist in clearing the materials. The excavator previously used was\nunable to function optimally and is now damaged. Without heavy machinery\nto dismantle steel and concrete rubble, spraying water from above the\ndebris would not fully extinguish the fire. \u2018That\u2019s why we withdrew\npersonnel briefly yesterday as there was no excavator available, to\navoid wasting operational funds and ensure effectiveness,\u2019 said\nDanang.<\/p>",
