        "content": "<p>REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA \u2014 The development of clean energy, including\nthe planned Mount Ungaran Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP), needs to be\nviewed objectively and on the basis of comprehensive studies.<\/p>\n<p>According to public policy analyst Agus Pambagio, the public need not\nworry so long as every stage of development complies with applicable\nrules and standards, particularly regarding environmental aspects,\nsustainability, safety, and the protection of areas of significant value\nto the community.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed that if all regulations are met, environmental studies\nare conducted properly, and all sustainability aspects are taken into\naccount, the public should have no cause for concern.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn principle, clean energy development must proceed whilst taking\ninto account the interests of the community and the environment,\u201d Agus\nsaid in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (7\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>He added that geothermal energy development forms part of efforts to\nprovide a cleaner and more sustainable energy source.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, any public concerns should be addressed through open\ninformation, accountable studies, and good communication between the\ngovernment, developers, and the community.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding worries about the presence of cultural heritage sites\naround the development area, Agus believes this aspect must form an\nimportant part of the planning process.<\/p>\n<p>He said the location of activities must certainly take account of\nareas of historical and cultural value.<\/p>\n<p>He cautioned that energy development must not disturb or damage\ncultural heritage sites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo long as the determination of the site and its implementation\nfollow the regulations on cultural heritage protection and the findings\nof existing studies, God willing, it will be a blessing for this\nnation,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>",
