        "content": "<p>Plan to dissolve BPN protested<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: Some 800 students from the National Land School<br>\nhere staged a protest on Thursday to voice their opposition to<br>\nsuggestions to dissolve the National Land Agency (BPN).<\/p>\n<p>Waving banners and posters, the students protested a statement<br>\nby State Minister of Regional Autonomy Ryaas Rasyid that it would<br>\nbe better for land matters to be handled directly by the<br>\nprovinces.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We support reform but we strongly reject the idea of<br>\ndisbanding BPN,&quot; the students said.<\/p>\n<p>The National Land School was established by BPN to improve the<br>\nquality of human resources within the agency.<\/p>\n<p>The students met with the head of the school, Paulus Suryo,<br>\nand BPN officials, who promised to relay the students&apos; message to<br>\nthe President and the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We&apos;ve only begun restructuring BPN, so why should they scrap<br>\nit now,&quot; the head of the BPN office in Yogyakarta, Suprapto,<br>\nsaid.
