PKS apologizes to PBB, Freedom Party<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has apologized to
\nthe Crescent and Star Party (PBB) and the Freedom Party for its
\nmistake in putting the serial numbers of the two parties in
\nspecimen ballot papers used in simulation polls.<\/p>\n
"To maintain our close relations, the PKS once again offers an
\napology to the supporters and workers of the PBB and the Freedom
\nParty for the mistake," PKS deputy chairman Al Muzammil Yusuf
\nsaid on Saturday.<\/p>\n
He was responding to a complaint filed by the PBB with the
\nNational Police, the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the
\nGeneral Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) about what had
\nhappened.<\/p>\n
In the specimen ballot papers used in the simulation, the PBB
\nwas placed fourth in numerical order instead of third, while the
\nFreedom Party was third instead of fourth.<\/p>\n
Al Muzammil said the mistakes had been mere human error and
\nthat PKS had no intention whatsoever of mistakenly putting the
\nserial numbers of the two parties on the specimen ballot papers,
\nmuch less to discredit them.<\/p>\n
He said the PKS central executive board had met with Freedom
\nParty chairman Adi Sasono to clarify the case and the latter had
\nsaid he considered it settled.<\/p>\n
"We intend to meet with the PBB central executive board to
\nclarify the case. We hope it can be resolved cordially," he said.<\/p>\n
However, if the PBB insisted on taking the case to court, the
\nPKS would be ready to challenge it, he said. -- Antara<\/p>",
