        "content": "<p>The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) has reclaimed\n111.71 hectares of forest land used by PT Singlurus Pratama for illegal\ncoal mining activities in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>Satgas PKH spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak said the reclamation was\ncarried out after a joint team conducted field verification and\nvalidation as well as document tracing.<\/p>\n<p>The reclamation of the area in the Bukit Soeharto Forest Park\n(Tahura), Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara, took place on Monday (31\/8) and\nwas marked by the installation of signage by Satgas PKH.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the verification results, Satgas PKH found that the\nconservation forest area had been used for mining activities without a\nForest Area Use Approval (PPKH).<\/p>\n<p>The total affected area reached 111.71 hectares, with a potential\nfine area of 101.44 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>For the unauthorised use of the forest area, the government has set a\npotential administrative fine of Rp147.31 billion against PT Singlurus\nPratama.<\/p>\n<p>Satgas PKH said the company has paid Rp25 billion of the potential\nadministrative fine.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Satgas PKH Implementation and Junior Attorney General for\nSpecial Crimes Kuntadi said the reclamation of the area holds strategic\nsignificance because of its proximity to the Nusantara Capital City\n(IKN).<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the enforcement action serves as a deterrent while\naffirming that there is no tolerance for illegal activities in the IKN\nbuffer zone.<\/p>\n<p>Kuntadi said the enforcement is not the final step, but rather the\nbeginning of sustainable forest area management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSatgas PKH will continue to sweep and take firm action against all\nillegal plantation and mining activities within forest areas across\nIndonesia without discrimination, in order to save state finances and\npreserve the environment for future generations,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
