PKB plans campaign a la Arnold<\/p>\n
SURABAYA: The East Java branch of the National Awakening Party
\n(PKB) says it plans to emulate Californian Governor Arnold
\nSchwarzenegger in its campaign.<\/p>\n
The party has also chartered three helicopters and five boats
\nto transport former president and party co-founder Aburrahman
\n\"Gus Dur\" Wahid during his campaign tour.<\/p>\n
\"We want our campaigns to be like those of Arnold
\nSchwarzenegger. We'll be different from other parties because
\nwe've prepared colorful and specially designed buses and cars
\nwith Gus Dur's photographs on them,\" PKB East Java deputy
\nchairman Fathorrasjid said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The buses, he said, would be used to transport Nahdlatul Ulama
\n(NU) ulemas and other PKB officials.<\/p>\n
\"Every branch will prepare three cars to make a total of 114
\ncars from 38 branches,\" said Fathorrasjid, who is also a
\nlegislative candidate from East Java, a PKB stronghold.<\/p>\n
He said Gus Dur planned to campaign in all areas of East Java.<\/p>\n
\"Perhaps he'll only stop by for a while, but what's important
\nis that he visits all parts of the province,\" he added.<\/p>\n
Fathorrasjid refused to disclose the PKB's campaign funding
\nsource, but asserted that \"it is transparent and legal according
