The terrifying moment the\nflood swept away buildings in Nepal was recounted by a pilot.<\/p>\n<p>A helicopter pilot who witnessed the deadly flash flood said the wave\nheight reached around five to six metres. The pilot, named Aman\nBudathoki, initially thought the armed forces were using explosives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout five minutes before landing, we saw dust rising high from the\nriver,\u201d Aman Budathoki told CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first it looked like a landslide. We even wondered whether the\narmy was using explosives for road construction,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>However, within seconds, the pilot saw dark floodwater mixed with\ndebris rushing swiftly and blending with clear water. Budathoki\ndescribed the situation at the scene as terrifying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe could see waves of water five to six metres high. We began\ncircling over the villages there and saw large trees and several\nvehicles swept away by the strong current,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation was very frightening. We even tried to follow the\nflood\u2019s path briefly to assess the damage,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>A horrifying video of the moment the flood struck Gyirong Port, on\nthe China-Nepal border, also went viral. The video shows people\npanicking and running. Moments later, the flash flood wave swept away\nbuildings and those people.<\/p>\n<p>The flash flood, which carried mud, damaged roads, bridges and a\npower plant project in the country located in the Himalayan mountains.\nSevere damage was reported in areas of Nepal close to Tibet.<\/p>\n<p>Local police spokesperson Abi Narayan Kafle said the death toll has\nnow risen to 95 people. Meanwhile, hundreds of others remain missing,\nincluding 28 police officers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far 95 deaths have been reported,\u201d said Abi Narayan Kafle.<\/p>",
