Semarang (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association\n(PHRI) of Central Java has stated that the hosting of the 31st National\nMusabaqah Tilawatil Qur\u2019an (MTQ) in Semarang City is boosting hotel\noccupancy rates within the region.<\/p>\n
The Acting Chairman of the PHRI Central Java Regional Leadership\nBody, Albert Dwijaya, stated in Semarang on Friday that the XXXI\nNational MTQ event is creating a snowball effect, impacting not only\nhotel room occupancy but also the travel business, corporate gatherings,\nand MSMEs.<\/p>\n
He noted that hotel occupancy has reached approximately 80 per cent\nand is projected to rise to 90 per cent during the peak of the National\nMTQ, which is scheduled to take place from 11\u201320 September 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we are seeing is city occupancy at around the 80 per cent mark.\nWe are optimistic that at its peak, hotel room occupancy could reach 90\nper cent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Consequently, PHRI Central Java has long since provided guidance to\nits 120 active members regarding the services provided to the\ndelegations and guests during the event. He emphasised the importance of\nhospitality, cleanliness, comfort, and supporting facilities.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, hotels serving as accommodation for the delegations have\ninstalled both electronic and conventional welcome banners. The hope is\nthat event participants will experience a warm welcome throughout their\nstay in Semarang.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdditionally, regarding food quality as well as halal certification\nand food safety, everything is in accordance with the standards required\nby the delegations,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
To guarantee room availability, PHRI Central Java is also\ncoordinating with hotels around Semarang City to ensure that guests and\ndelegations participating in the event are able to secure\naccommodation.<\/p>\n
\u201cEconomically, those benefiting are not only in the hotel and\nrestaurant sectors, but certainly MSMEs as well. Therefore, we are also\nurging our MSME partners to be more active in promoting authentic or\nlocal Semarang products,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Central Java Provincial Government estimated that the\neconomic turnover from the 31st National MTQ in 2026 in Semarang would\nreach Rp1.2 trillion.<\/p>\n
The Vice Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, stated that\nthis figure is the result of calculations by the Provincial Government\ntogether with BPS (Statistics Indonesia), taking into account economic\nactivities throughout the MTQ series.<\/p>\n
