\nHEALTH-MINDED: Residents of the densely-populated Kampung Utan
\nPanjang in Kemayoran district, Central Jakarta, are known for
\ntheir health-mindedness. Some of the area residents yesterday
\ncarried their household waste packed in plastic bags and loaded
\nthem into a jointly-hired truck which will carry the waste to a
\ntemporary garbage dump. The citizens are driven to this by the
\nlack of idle space for a garbage dump in the district.<\/p>\n

\non the road leading to the Asrama Haji (Haj Hostel) in Pondok
\nGede, East Jakarta, which is notorious for traffic jams in the
\nHaj season. To alleviate the congestion in the area the municipal
\nadministration early this week issued a circular requiring
\npublic buses to take alternative routes.<\/p>\n

\nknown, wait along the dividing fence not far from the Jl. M.T.
\nHaryono toll gate in South Jakarta. They offer to ride with
\nmotorists during the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. traffic restriction period
\nevery working days. Many motorists heading into the restricted
\nzone pick them up to fulfill the requirement to have three people
\nin their cars. The youngsters get at least Rp 500 (US 25 cents)
\nper trip, per person.<\/p>",
