PHDI Bali\nChairman I Nyoman Kenak expressed appreciation for the prompt action\ntaken by law enforcement authorities in handling the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe view this positively and deem it appropriate to commend the law\nenforcement officials who have investigated the matter,\u201d Kenak stated\nwhen contacted by detikBali on Sunday (22\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to Kenak, legal action is crucial as a form of protection\nfor Bali\u2019s religious and cultural values, which are of a sacred\nnature.<\/p>\n
Kenak noted that violations of the Catur Brata Penyepian principles\nstill frequently occur, particularly among those who do not fully\nunderstand the meaning of Nyepi. Each adat village, functioning as a\ngrassroots level of governance, actually holds the authority to monitor\nits territory.<\/p>\n
Kenak stressed that supervision during Nyepi is not solely the\nresponsibility of state apparatus but also a strategic role for adat\nvillages as guardians of social order at the local level.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe social aspect with authority lies with the adat villages, and of\ncourse, law enforcement with the authorities,\u201d Kenak added.<\/p>\n
Kenak hopes this case will serve as a lesson for foreign tourists and\nthe general public to better respect Bali\u2019s local wisdom, especially in\nthe observance of sacred religious days like Nyepi, which is carried out\nwith full solemnity.<\/p>\n

Head of Public Relations for Polda Bali, Commissioner Ariasandy,\nrevealed that the suspect designation followed a series of\ninvestigations culminating in a case review on Saturday (21\/3). The\nhandling of this case stemmed from a cyber patrol that discovered the\npost on the Instagram account @luzzysun<\/span>.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom the cyber patrol results, a post containing elements of insult\ntowards Nyepi Day was found. Subsequently, profiling was conducted until\nthe identity of the account owner was identified,\u201d Ariasandy told\ndetikBali on Sunday (22\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n In his post, Luzian wrote a sentence with a crude tone regarding the\nimplementation of Nyepi in Bali. The Swiss man initially explained the\nrule prohibiting wandering outside during Nyepi in Bali.<\/p>\n Luzian then stated that he would not heed the Nyepi rules.
