(PGN) plans to increase its natural gas\nsupply by utilising sources from the Sengeti Field in Muaro, Jambi,\nwhich has been classified as stranded gas. The gas supply from this\nfield will be integrated into PGN\u2019s existing gas pipeline network. PGN\nCorporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman explained that the Sengeti Field is\nestimated to be able to supply around 5 million standard cubic feet per\nday (MMSCFD). \u201cUtilising stranded gas is one of PGN\u2019s strategies to\nprovide natural gas supply for domestic customers,\u201d she said in a\nwritten statement on Monday, 22 June 2026. The additional gas supply\nfrom Sengeti is targeted to start flowing by the fourth quarter of 2028\nat the earliest. The gas will be used to meet the needs of industrial\ncustomers and power plants in the Sumatra region. Fajriyah stated that\nutilising stranded gas is one of the company\u2019s strategies to maintain\nthe reliability of natural gas supply. \u201cPGN ensures the readiness of\ninfrastructure and commercial aspects in accordance with applicable\nstandards and regulations,\u201d she said. According to her, this project\nprovides added value for the company through the development of a gas\nprocessing business at the field. In addition to increasing domestic\nenergy supply, this project has the potential to boost state revenue,\nsupport the development of new gas fields, and strengthen long-term\nnational energy security. The optimisation of gas fields previously\ndeemed uneconomical is expected to help the government increase national\ngas lifting while simultaneously encouraging investment and oil and gas\nexploration activities. Fajriyah emphasised that PGN will continue to\ndevelop gas supply sources from various domestic origins to maintain the\nreliability of energy distribution for customers. \u201cThe Sengeti Field\nrepresents a synergistic collaboration with government support and all\nstakeholders to provide benefits for the people of Indonesia,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>",
