Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) has\nintroduced share investment opportunities in the clean energy sector to\nyoung people through collaboration with the Financial Services Authority\n(OJK) and Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).<\/p>\n
PGE\u2019s Manager of Partnership & Portfolio Management, Lufan Nassya\nFaswara, stated in Jakarta on Friday that the energy sector,\nparticularly renewable energy, has strong long-term prospects as global\ndemand for low-emission energy increases.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeothermal energy is one of the renewable energy sources with very\nsignificant potential in Indonesia, approximately 24 GW. Indonesia\u2019s\ngeological location along active volcanic rings makes geothermal\nresources abundant and promising for development as clean energy and as\na long-term investment opportunity,\u201d Lufan said.<\/p>\n
He assessed that global commitment to energy transition, including\nthrough international agreements to reduce carbon emissions, is driving\nincreased demand for reliable, stable, and sustainable energy\nsources.<\/p>\n
\u201cPGE believes that young people\u2019s involvement in understanding\ninvestment and energy transition will be an important factor in\nsupporting national economic growth in the future,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
From the capital market perspective, BEI\u2019s Vice Director of Research,\nVerdi Ikhwan, emphasised the importance of building investment habits\nearly as part of healthy financial planning.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvestment is important because inflation occurs every year. Through\ninvestment, money can grow and will not be eroded by rising prices. If\ndone consistently, share investment can provide optimal returns in the\nlong term through the compounding effect,\u201d Verdi explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore investing, it is important to understand your financial\ncondition, risks, and investment objectives. Investment decisions should\nbe made wisely and strategically to avoid problems in the future,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
The collaboration between PGE, OJK, and BEI is being carried out\npartly through a Youth Seminar entitled \u201cMaking Money from Energy\nShares,\u201d held at Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) in Bandung this\nweek.<\/p>\n
