Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Philanthropy Association (PFI) has
established a strategic direction for 2026 to strengthen the role of
philanthropic institutions as drivers of solutions to various national
development challenges through more integrated cross-sector
collaboration.

PFI Board Chairman Rizal Algamar stated in a comment received in
Jakarta on Saturday that this strategic direction is a continuation of
efforts to reinforce PFI’s role as a central philanthropy hub built
throughout the previous year.

“The forward focus is not only on expanding collaboration but also
ensuring that every initiative that develops can connect within one
ecosystem to become more directed collective action,” he said during the
PFI 2026 Members’ General Meeting (RUA).

He explained that the 2026 strategic plan is focused on three main
pillars, starting with strengthening PFI’s role as a national hub to
align the direction of the movement.

Next is developing a collaborative ecosystem through the
Multi-Stakeholder Forum (MSF) and thematic clusters to accelerate
solutions to issues of poverty, economic resilience, and climate
change.

The third pillar is strengthening knowledge infrastructure and social
funding innovation, including the utilisation of data and more adaptive
and sustainable financing models.

According to him, the future of Indonesian philanthropy is not only
determined by the amount of resources mobilised but by the ability to
direct those resources into real and sustainable impacts for achieving
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To support implementation, PFI is also developing a strategic digital
platform that includes a philanthropy directory for a database mapping
of actors, as well as an impact platform for accountable impact
measurement.

“In addition, the Learning platform, targeted for completion in 2026,
will serve as a shared learning space for members,” he said, emphasising
that all of this is part of PFI’s commitment to driving the
transformation of national philanthropy towards more measurable,
inclusive practices with broad impact amid increasingly complex global
challenges such as economic inequality and climate crises.

Meanwhile, Director of Yayasan Bakti Barito, Dian A Purbasari,
assessed that the collaborative approach facilitated by PFI has opened
up broader synergy opportunities across institutions. “We not only learn
from various best practices but also collaborate across institutions to
strengthen capacity and expand programme reach,” she said.

In agreement, Ahmad Juwaini from Dompet Dhuafa added that a strong
network has proven to enhance the capacity and governance of
philanthropic institutions. Thus, this experience becomes the foundation
for PFI to continue strengthening a more integrated and impactful
collaborative approach in 2026.

“We feel significant benefits in expanding networks, strengthening
collaboration, as well as improving capacity and institutional
governance,” said Ahmad.
",
