        "content": "<p>The petty motive behind the assault that led to the death of Bripda\nDirja Pratama has been revealed; this is what his senior, who is now a\nsuspect, confessed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antara Photo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Makassar, VIVA \u2013 New facts have emerged in the case of the death of\nSecond Police Brigadier (Bripda) Dirja Pratama (19) at the Samapta\nDormitory of the South Sulawesi Regional Police.<\/p>\n<p>The act of violence, allegedly committed by a senior officer against\na junior, was triggered by a hierarchy issue. The Chief of the South\nSulawesi Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Djuhandani Raharjo\nPuro, revealed the motive behind the assault committed by Bripda P\nagainst the victim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe motive is a hierarchy issue; the senior was angry because the\njunior (the victim) was asked to come forward but refused to do so,\u201d he\nsaid on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed that, to investigators, the suspect admitted to hitting\nthe victim until he died. The act of violence allegedly occurred during\nthe dawn prayer time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was picked up and assaulted, beaten, during the dawn prayer,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, it was reported that one person had been named as a\nsuspect in the assault on Bripda DP, which led to his death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, we have secured one suspect based on the confession made.\nHowever, we do not simply believe it, because we are still looking at\nother possible involvements,\u201d said the Chief of the South Sulawesi\nRegional Police, Inspector General of Police Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro,\non Monday, 23 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>For your information, a young member of the Polri (Indonesian\nNational Police) with the rank of Bripda and the initials DP was\nreported to have died inside the Police Dormitory (Aspol), in the South\nSulawesi Regional Police Office complex, Makassar. DP died allegedly due\nto being assaulted by his senior.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Propam Division of the South Sulawesi Regional\nPolice, Commissioner of Police Zulham Effendi, said that they had\nexamined six witnesses, including DP\u2019s senior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe cannot yet confirm whether the victim was ganged up on or not,\nbut we have definitely conducted examinations on six people, including\nhis colleagues or those from his cohort, and DP\u2019s senior.
