Perumka orders builders off land<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: The provincial office of the Ministry of
\nCommunications has told developers of shops on land belonging to
\nstate-owned railway company Perumka to stop their activities.<\/p>\n
\"The public should report to Perumka if they see shops being
\ndeveloped on the company's property,\" Ahmad Usman Duni, head of
\nthe office, was quoted by Antara as saying here on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He said 49 permanent shops were reportedly being built by
\ndevelopers on a plot of Perumka land located in the town of
\nSamalanga. The railway tracks and the sleepers were dismantled
\nand sold, he said.<\/p>\n
According to a resident of Samalanga, the sleepers were sold
\nfor Rp 20,000 per piece.<\/p>\n
Residents said the 49 permanent four-by-six-meter shops were
\noffered for Rp 15 million each. There were also 39 illegal
\nbuildings along the railway tracks. (edt)<\/p>",
