        "content": "<p>PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumatera Bagian Utara (Sumbagut)\nhas increased subsidised LPG supplies in the Riau Islands region,\nincluding Batam, by up to three times the normal daily requirement to\nanticipate the surge in demand ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.<\/p>\n<p>Sales Branch Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Batam, Hanif Pradipta\nNur Shalih, stated in Batam, Riau Islands, on Wednesday that the daily\nrequirement for 3kg LPG in Batam city is around 50,000 cylinders.<\/p>\n<p>To address the Eid period, the company is adding about 155,000\ncylinders, distributed from 13 to 29 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the distribution and operations side, we have prepared extra\nmeasures. Insya Allah, it will be safe to meet LPG needs in Batam and\nRiau Islands. Overall in Riau Islands, the addition reaches three times\nthe normal daily requirement,\u201d said Hanif.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, even though some residents are travelling out of\nthe area for Eid, LPG demand is expected to remain high, particularly\nduring the return flow when household activities increase again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPertamina ensures that this stock addition step is taken to maintain\nenergy availability for the community and prevent potential shortages\nduring the major religious holiday period,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Pertamina Sumbagut has reminded that there is a ban on\nthe use of 3kg LPG by business actors such as laundries and\nrestaurants.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that the subsidised LPG is intended for eligible\ncommunity members.<\/p>\n<p>Hanif mentioned that the company has coordinated with relevant\nstakeholders to conduct supervision and field inspections of businesses\nsuspected of misusing subsidised LPG.<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina also encourages local governments to issue circular letters\nto reinforce the ban on the use of 3kg LPG by nutrition fulfilment\nservice units (SPPG) in implementing the free nutritious meal\nprogramme.<\/p>\n<p>With these various measures, Pertamina hopes that the distribution of\nsubsidised LPG remains on target and the community\u2019s needs during Eid\ncan be well fulfilled.<\/p>",
