        "content": "<p>Pertamina to speed up change<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina president Baihaki Hakim<br>\nsaid on Wednesday that Pertamina was expected to become a limited<br>\nliability company in early 2003, sooner than the expected<br>\nNovember 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Baihaki said that the transformation process was part of<br>\ngovernment moves to liberalize the country's oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Pertamina had launched a tender process to select<br>\nan auditor to separate company and government assets.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new oil and gas law, which came into effect in<br>\nNovember last year, Pertamina has to transform itself into<br>\nlimited liability company within two years.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Baihaki said that President Megawati Soekarnoputri<br>\nplanned to visit South Korea next month to help secure a LNG<br>\n(liquefied natural gas) market for Pertamina.<\/p>\n<p>He said Pertamina was seeking ways to ensure that its LNG<br>\nsupply contract with South Korea would continue as the country<br>\nwas about to liberalize its energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina exports about 5.2 million tons of LNG annually to<br>\nstate-run Korea Gas Corp.<\/p>",
