Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening the
targeted distribution of subsidised fuel through enhancements to QR code
usage in the East Java (Jatim) region.

Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina
Patra Niaga Regional Jatim, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus), Ahad
Rahedi, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the company continues to
maintain the reliability of energy supply for the public.

“One of the efforts undertaken is through periodic evaluation and
updating of consumer data to ensure that the distribution of subsidised
fuel is increasingly targeted and easily accessible,” he said.

On Wednesday (29/4), Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus
received and accommodated aspirations from truck driver groups regarding
the implementation of barcodes in the targeted subsidised fuel
programme.

In the meeting, the drivers conveyed various inputs, ranging from
on-site technical issues to hopes that the policy could run more
effectively without hindering goods distribution activities.

Ahad explained that data updating is a strategic step to ensure that
QR code usage and subsidised fuel quotas align with valid vehicle
ownership.

The implementation of QR codes in the targeted subsidy programme is a
government policy to ensure that the distribution of subsidised fuel,
both Biosolar and Pertalite, reaches the rightful parties.

In this regard, Pertamina acts as the distributor in accordance with
the government’s assignment.

Ahad viewed the drivers’ aspirations as a form of customer
attention.

“We see this positively and are committed to continuing to listen and
follow up on every input with solutions within our authority to improve
service quality for all customers,” he said.

Regarding QR codes that encounter issues or cannot be used for
transactions, Ahad continued, the system periodically monitors
registered vehicle data and QR code usage patterns at fuel stations.

The system also detects transaction anomalies, such as large-volume
refuelling in close proximity or refuelling at multiple different fuel
stations in a short time.

Such conditions may indicate misuse of QR codes by irresponsible
parties, thus requiring re-verification processes.

To serve the needs of truck drivers facing QR code issues during
transactions, Pertamina has opened a 147 helpdesk service across the
entire East Java region.

“This step aims to accelerate the re-verification process and
reactivate QR codes so they can be used for purchasing subsidised fuel,”
Ahad explained.

Previously, 119 vehicles underwent re-registration for QR code
activation. Of that number, 73.1 per cent or 87 vehicles have completed
the re-registration process.

Meanwhile, 26.9 per cent or 32 vehicles have not yet successfully
obtained QR codes.

The challenges faced vary, including licence plate numbers not yet
registered, deleted QR codes, and the need for vehicle data
revisions.

Ahad urged the public whose data is not yet active to immediately
re-register using accurate vehicle data.

The registration process is designed to be simple so that the public
can still obtain subsidised fuel without issues, ensuring services are
enjoyed smoothly and safely.

“Through these various efforts, Pertamina not only improves service
quality but also invites the public to actively participate in realising
a fairer and more targeted energy distribution,” said Ahad.
",
