        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, together with the\nPertamina Foundation, has inaugurated 13 recipients of the 2026 Sailor\nCandidate Scholarship Programme as part of its commitment to producing a\ngeneration of Indonesian sailors who are professional, principled and\nready to support the sustainability of national energy distribution.<\/p>\n<p>Arif Yunianto, Director of Logistics Fleet at PT Pertamina Patra\nNiaga, said that Indonesia, as a maritime nation, needs sailors who\npossess not only technical competence but also integrity and a spirit of\ndedication to support national energy distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia is the largest maritime country in the world, with more\nthan 17,000 islands, a coastline stretching over 100,000 kilometres, and\na sea territory of around 3.3 million square kilometres. These\nconditions make sailors strategically important in maintaining\nconnectivity and the smooth distribution of national energy,\u201d Arif said\nin a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Sailor Candidate Scholarship Programme is one of the company\u2019s\nefforts to prepare the regeneration of sailors capable of meeting the\nfuture needs of the maritime and energy industries, whilst opening up\naccess to education and career opportunities for the nation\u2019s finest\nsons and daughters.<\/p>\n<p>As Pertamina\u2019s Downstream Subholding, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga plays\na strategic role in ensuring energy distribution across Indonesia. In an\narchipelagic nation such as Indonesia, the delivery of fuel, LPG, crude\noil and other energy products relies heavily on sea transport.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the presence of competent sailors is a key factor in\nmaintaining smooth operations, navigational safety and the security of\nnational energy supply.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, the programme is being run in cooperation with seven\nmaritime higher education institutions in Indonesia and has received\ngreat enthusiasm from participants. Of 403 applicants, 100 participants\nwent through the administrative selection and written test stages, 40\nprogressed to interviews, and ultimately the 13 best scholarship\nrecipients were selected.<\/p>\n<p>After completing their education, the recipients will be prepared to\njoin PT Pertamina Patra Niaga as sailors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thirteen scholarship recipients inaugurated today are the\ncandidate successors to Pertamina Patra Niaga\u2019s sailors. We hope they\ngrow into sailors who are professional, principled and possess a spirit\nof dedication to ensure energy continues to reach people across\nIndonesia,\u201d Arif added.<\/p>\n<p>Arif added that PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is currently supported by\naround 2,500 sailors who are on the front line of distributing energy to\nvarious regions of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Sailor Candidate Scholarship Programme is the\ncompany\u2019s long-term investment in preparing competent regeneration of\nmaritime human resources to meet the company\u2019s future operational\nneeds.<\/p>\n<p>Agus Mashud S. Asngari, President Director of the Pertamina\nFoundation, said the scholarship programme is an investment in building\na young Indonesian generation ready to serve the nation. Through this\ncollaboration, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and the Pertamina Foundation\ncontinue to strengthen their commitment to developing outstanding\nIndonesian maritime human resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are 13 remarkable young people who carry the DNA of the sea\nand of Indonesia, with a spirit of dedication to serving the nation\u2019s\nenergy needs.
