PT Pertamina Patra Niaga held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) themed
‘Strengthening Governance and Legal Risk Mitigation in the Procurement
Business Process for Import of Crude Oil/Condensate and Refinery
Products of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’ in Jakarta on 11 June 2026. The
discussion was attended by various stakeholders, including the Attorney
General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia through the Junior
Attorney General for Civil and State Administration (JAMDATUN) and the
Junior Attorney General for Intelligence (JAMINTEL), the Corruption
Eradication Commission (KPK), the Government Goods/Services Procurement
Policy Institute (LKPP), academics, and representatives from relevant
supervisory and governance functions within the company. The event was
opened by the Commercial Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Erwin
Suryadi, who stated that this forum is the company’s effort to perfect
the procurement process and obtain feedback on the procurement
governance improvement concept being formulated by Pertamina Patra Niaga
to make it more transparent, accountable, and compliant with legal
provisions, while supporting national energy security. ‘Our task is to
ensure the community’s energy needs are met properly and to ensure that
all procurement processes are carried out in an accountable and
responsible manner and in accordance with regulations. Therefore,
Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to work hard together with the support
of various law enforcement agencies, including the KPK and the Attorney
General’s Office, to strengthen governance and encourage improvements in
the energy procurement process,’ said Erwin. In the FGD, participants
discussed various aspects of strengthening energy procurement
governance, from the conformity of the procurement process with legal
provisions, the application of good practices in the procurement of
imported crude oil/condensate, fuel and LPG, risk management,
strengthening integrity and compliance, to mitigation steps in facing
global market and geopolitical dynamics. Several mitigation measures for
strengthening governance include adjusting procedures in urgent
conditions, implementing segregation of duty, strengthening the four
eyes principle, and involving the compliance function. One of the
speakers at the event, the Director of Legal Considerations of JAMDATUN,
Irene Putri, in her presentation highlighted the need for a common
understanding of governance and regulatory compliance at all stages of
the business process, so that every decision taken can support business
continuity. ‘This FGD is very important to provide understanding to
internal stakeholders regarding governance-related issues and to carry
out processes in accordance with the rules. From our side, Pertamina
Patra Niaga has so far been a partner that always collaborates to
request assistance so that all procurement processes comply with
regulations and all risks can be properly mitigated,’ said Irene.
Support was then conveyed by the Head of the Energy and Natural
Resources (ESDA) Section of JAMINTEL, Deny Alvianto, who assessed that
the governance improvement efforts undertaken by Pertamina Patra Niaga
also support the reliability of the national energy supply. ‘Pertamina
Patra Niaga has carried out various reinforcements in building and
improving procurement governance for the better. These efforts
contribute to supporting national energy security, especially meeting
fuel needs. Amidst global geopolitical dynamics, every step taken has
prioritised applicable mechanisms and the precautionary principle,’
explained Deny. In a similar vein, the Head of the Coordination and
Supervision Task Force of the KPK, Dian Patria, also assessed that the
improvement efforts undertaken by Pertamina Patra Niaga demonstrate the
company’s commitment to strengthening energy procurement governance. ‘We
see that there is a strong will from Pertamina Patra Niaga to continue
to improve and strengthen procurement governance. Pertamina Patra Niaga
also invited the KPK and JAMINTEL to provide input and recommendations.
This is a good step, because a number of inputs are starting to be
implemented, including the segregation of duties in the procurement
process and opening up space for wider business partners,’ said Dian.
Input from the speakers and stakeholders becomes part of continuous
improvement and provision for Pertamina Patra Niaga in strengthening
energy procurement governance to be more transparent, accountable,
adaptive to global market dynamics, and supported by adequate legal risk
mitigation.
",
