        "content": "<p>Pertamina offers nuclear technology<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Central Pertamina Hospital in South Jakarta has<br>\ninstalled a state-of-the-art nuclear imaging system called<br>\nSKYLight to provide blood flow information, detect heart disease<br>\nand diagnose tumors.<\/p>\n<p>The system, developed by Philips Medical Systems, uses Single<br>\nPhoton Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) technology to produce<br>\nimages that show the molecular progress of a disease as opposed<br>\nto Magnetic Resonance Imaging machines, which use an anatomical<br>\napproach.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other SPECT scanners, SKYLight does not require the<br>\ntransfer of a patient from a wheelchair or bed to a gantry during<br>\ntesting. The equipment, which has two movable scanners, allows<br>\nthe patient to be scanned in virtually any condition and any<br>\nposition: sitting, standing, or reclining.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Pertamina Hospital&apos;s nuclear medicine department,<br>\nDr. Soebowo Soemewo, said the device, which uses a dual-headed<br>\ngamma camera, makes scanning &quot;faster, more accurate, more<br>\nflexible, and more comfortable for the patients.&quot; -- JP\/002<\/p>",
