        "content": "<p>Energy security and the energy transition were among the strategic\nissues presented by PT Pertamina (Persero) during the IdeaFest 2026\nevent. Addressing the younger generation, who play a vital role in\nshaping Indonesia\u2019s future, Pertamina introduced its Dual Growth\nStrategy\u2014a corporate plan to strengthen existing energy businesses while\ndeveloping low-carbon businesses as new sources of growth.<\/p>\n<p>This was conveyed by Pertamina\u2019s Corporate Secretary, Arya Dwi\nParamita, during an IdeaFest 2026 session at the Jakarta Convention\nCenter (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (4\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Arya, forums such as IdeaFest serve as important spaces\nto broaden the insights of the younger generation regarding energy\nchallenges, while encouraging the emergence of ideas and innovations to\nmeet future energy needs.<\/p>\n<p>Arya explained that as the national energy company, Pertamina holds a\nstrategic role in maintaining Indonesia\u2019s energy security. The current\nchallenge lies in the fact that national energy consumption remains\nhigher than domestic production capacity, meaning a portion of the\nrequirements must still be met through imports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been importing for a long time. This means our consumption\nis higher than our national production. This is why we need to bring in\noil and gas supplies from other countries to meet domestic needs,\u201d said\nArya, as quoted on Saturday (5\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Arya, this condition is a challenge that must be\naddressed by strengthening domestic production alongside the development\nof new energy sources. Consequently, Pertamina is implementing the Dual\nGrowth Strategy with two parallel focuses: optimising existing\nbusinesses to meet the public\u2019s energy needs and developing low-carbon\nbusinesses for the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo meet current needs, we must maintain production security so that\nthe public continues to receive fuel. On the other hand, we are also\nbuilding low-carbon businesses and new renewable energy,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>",
