        "content": "<p>PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) has implemented a Solar Power\nPlant (PLTS) on the Oil Barge (OB) Patra 2303 as part of efforts to\ndecarbonise the maritime sector. Agung Wicaksono, Director of Business\nTransformation and Sustainability at PT Pertamina, stated that the use\nof solar energy combined with batteries demonstrates that\ndedieselisation can be achieved not only on land but also at sea. \u201cThis\nis proof that Pertamina is ready to support the acceleration of the\nenergy transition,\u201d he said. The initiative is capable of reducing the\nvessel\u2019s emissions by up to 79.2 tonnes of CO\u2082 per year and saving\napproximately 28.08 kilolitres of diesel fuel annually. In line with\nthis, the clean energy programme on the vessel represents a concrete\nstep in strengthening PTK\u2019s commitment to more efficient and sustainable\noperations. Eko Cahyadi, Acting President Director of PT Pertamina Trans\nKontinental, added that safety aspects were a primary concern from the\nplanning stage through to the system installation on the ship. This is\nbecause OB Patra 2303 operates transporting oil cargo, requiring higher\nsafety standards compared to installations on conventional facilities.\n\u201cWhat makes this project special is that the installation was carried\nout on a vessel transporting hazardous cargo. Therefore, the\ninstallation process had to meet much stricter safety standards,\u201d he\nsaid. The implementation of the solar power system on the oil tanker is\none of Pertamina\u2019s renewable energy innovations, carried out with high\nHSSE standards to ensure the system operates safely without disrupting\nthe vessel\u2019s operational activities. The PLTS uses an off-grid solar\npanel system with a capacity of 11.5 kWp integrated with a 32 kWh\nBattery Energy Storage System (BESS). Based on estimates, the use of\nthis transitional energy can potentially reduce emissions by up to 79.2\ntonnes of CO\u2082 per year and save up to 28.08 kilolitres of diesel per\nyear. The implementation of the PLTS is the result of synergy among\nentities within Pertamina, involving collaboration between PT Pertamina\nNew &amp; Renewable Energy (PNRE) as the renewable energy solution\ndeveloper, PTK as the fleet operator, and PIS as Pertamina\u2019s Integrated\nMarine Logistics subholding.<\/p>",
