Pertamina finds gas<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The state-owned oil company Pertamina and its
\npartner Saga Petroleum Indonesia Jambi have discovered natural
\ngas and condensate at the Pulau Gading-1 (PGD) well, roughly 75
\nkm southeast of Jambi, the capital of Jambi province.<\/p>\n
Pertamina announced on Wednesday that the well was spudded on
\nNov. 14, 1995 and reached a final depth of 2,220 meters on Jan.
\n3, 1996.<\/p>\n
Five tests were conducted in Basement, Weathered Basement,
\nTalang Akar and Baturaja formations.<\/p>\n
In the Weathered Basement testing period of 1975-1990, gas was
\ndiscovered at the rate of 1.127 million cubic feet per day with a
\nCO-2 content of approximately 20-21 percent.<\/p>\n
The testing in the Baturaja formation, interval 1744-1768
\nmeters, found gas which exits at the rate of 14.5 million cubic
\nfeet per day, and condensate at 472 barrels per day. A wellhead
\npressure of 1995 PSI and a CO-2 content of approximately 6.5-8.8
\npercent were measured.<\/p>\n
A further test in the Baturaja formation at 1,703-1,726 meters
\nresulted in the discovery of gas which exits at the rate of 17.7
\nmillion cubic feet, and condensate at 628.9 barrels per day, with
\na wellhead pressure of 1580 PSI and a CO-2 content of
\napproximately 6.7-7.6 percent. (13)<\/p>",
