Jakarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) is once again holding the Pertamina\nEco RunFest 2026, an annual event that this year carries the theme\n\u201cSpark the Change, Leave Zero Trace\u201d. This year\u2019s focus invites the\npublic to take tangible action in reducing, understanding, and engaging\nin plastic waste processing through various activities.<\/p>\n
Director of Risk Management at PT Pertamina (Persero), Ahmad Siddik\nBadruddin, stated that the spirit of sustainability is a crucial part of\nthe Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026. Entering its 13th year, Eco RunFest has\nevolved from a sporting event into a festival that brings together\nsports, music, lifestyle, and community, while promoting environmental\nawareness.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor Pertamina, sport is not just about who reaches the finish line\nfastest. Sport teaches us about spirit, discipline, resilience,\ntogetherness, and consistency to keep moving forward. These values are\nalso part of Pertamina\u2019s spirit in providing the best energy for\nIndonesia. These values also serve as a trigger for us in promoting\nvarious sustainability initiatives, including efforts to reduce\nenvironmental impact,\u201d said Siddik during a press conference in Jakarta\non Wednesday (26\/08\/2026).<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina\n(Persero), Muhammad Baron, said the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026 presents\nseven sustainability initiatives. The seven initiatives include eco\njersey, eco innovation, eco mission, eco talent, eco production, eco\nwaste management, and eco education.<\/p>\n
\u201cPertamina Eco RunFest 2026 is a movement that invites the public to\nparticipate directly in protecting the environment. These sustainability\ninitiatives are not merely rhetoric, but are concretely embodied in\nvarious activities, from the use of production materials, the making of\nrunning jerseys, to waste management,\u201d said Baron.<\/p>\n
Baron said that as an energy company, Pertamina continues to strive\nto deliver more responsible and sustainable energy. Through Eco RunFest,\nthe company wants to present an event that is not merely a sporting\nevent and music festival, but an effort to promote a healthier lifestyle\nand environmental awareness.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll profits from ticket sales for the Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026\nwill be donated 100 percent to support the implementation of eco\nmission. Thus, every ticket purchased is not only part of participation,\nbut participants can provide tangible benefits for various environmental\nprogrammes,\u201d said Baron.<\/p>\n
The eco jersey initiative, for example, is marked by the use of\nplastic bottle and textile waste as material for runners\u2019 jerseys.\nCircular economy principles are applied through eco production by\noptimising the use of recycled and rented materials, as well as reusing\nseveral production elements from the previous year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n
In the eco waste management initiative, Pertamina provides waste\nmanagement across the entire series of activities, from the press\nconference, Road to Event, to the implementation of Pertamina Eco\nRunFest, including organic waste processing through the Maggot Corner.\nYouth involvement also strengthens the Eco Innovation initiative by\nproviding a space for students to develop waste management solutions in\ntheir school environment.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the eco mission initiative connects the event with\nbenefits that can be felt by schools, communities, and public spaces.\nEco talent involves public figures to campaign for environmentally\nfriendly habits in daily life.<\/p>\n
Pertamina also provides a sustainability dashboard and carbon\ncalculator to help the public understand the environmental footprint of\ntheir activities as part of eco education.<\/p>\n
