TANGERANG - PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina\nDrilling) and PT Halliburton Indonesia have entered into a strategic\ncollaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)\nin Tangerang on Friday, 22 May 2026.<\/p>\n
The MoU signing marks the next step for both companies to strengthen\ncollaboration in developing oil, gas, geothermal, and non-conventional\ngas support services, both domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n
Pertamina Drilling\u2019s President Director Avep Disasmita said the\ncollaboration with Halliburton is part of the company\u2019s strategy to\nexpand onshore and offshore rig services in the global market.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis partnership demonstrates Pertamina Drilling\u2019s commitment to\nenhancing capabilities and expanding international business. We see\nsignificant opportunities in developing oil and gas, geothermal, and\nnon-conventional gas projects, including potential collaborations in the\nMiddle East,\u201d Avep said.<\/p>\n
He added that synergy with Halliburton is expected to drive\ntechnology transfer, improve human resource competence, and strengthen\nthe competitiveness of the national drilling services industry.<\/p>\n
The scope of collaboration between Pertamina Drilling and Halliburton\nIndonesia covers various energy sector support services, including rig\nservices, project management, fracturing services, drilling bits,\ndirectional drilling, measurement while drilling (MWD), logging while\ndrilling (LWD), wireline and tubing conveyed perforating services, drill\nstem test and surface well test services, drilling fluids services,\nliner hanger, cementing services, wellhead equipment and services, and\nH2S, fishing and coring services.<\/p>\n
During the MoU discussions, both companies also explored potential\ncollaboration on the West Qurna Block project in Iraq. Halliburton has\nproposed further talks on services Pertamina Drilling could support,\nincluding fishing services, centrifuge services, coring services, and\ncasing running services.<\/p>\n
Pertamina Drilling confirmed its readiness to support Halliburton\u2019s\noperational needs through service provision, personnel, and technical\nsupport as required by the project. Both companies agreed to continue\ndetailed discussions on work scope, technical requirements, commercial\narrangements, and collaboration mechanisms for the Iraqi project.<\/p>\n
Halliburton Indonesia\u2019s President Director Ankush Bhalla welcomed the\nstrengthened collaboration, stating: \u201cWe see Pertamina Drilling\u2019s\nexperience and capabilities as supportive of Halliburton\u2019s operational\nneeds, including for strategic projects abroad.
