PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is building a sustainable waste management\necosystem in Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta, which creates\ngreen jobs, increases economic value, and strengthens environmental\neducation for the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn Guwosari, we see how waste, which was previously considered a\nproblem, can be managed into an opportunity, opening business\nopportunities while building community awareness regarding environmental\ncare,\u201d said the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega\nLegowo Putra, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to him, waste does not always have to end as a problem. In\nGuwosari, waste management is actually developing and providing benefits\nto the community through the Go Sari Programme, nurtured by Pertamina\nPatra Niaga via the Rewulu Fuel Terminal since 2023.<\/p>\n
Through the development of the Guwosari Reduce, Reuse, Recycle\n(TPS3R) Waste Processing Site, the community is not only encouraged to\nreduce waste at its source but is also directly involved in the\nmanagement process to create economic value.<\/p>\n
Currently, the Guwosari TPS3R is capable of managing approximately\n4.5 tonnes of waste every day and has created green jobs for 27 workers,\nall of whom have received social security benefits.<\/p>\n
He stated that the Go Sari Programme is an example of how\nsustainability can be built from things close to people\u2019s daily lives.\n\u201cFor us, sustainability is not just about protecting the environment,\nbut about how these efforts can provide real benefits to the community,\u201d\nhe added.<\/p>\n
According to Mars Ega, through the Social and Environmental\nResponsibility (TJSL) Programme, this demonstrates that Pertamina Patra\nNiaga\u2019s role is not only to maintain energy security but also to ensure\nthe company provides economic and social value to the communities around\nits operational areas.<\/p>\n
At the same opportunity, the VP of Community Involvement &\nDevelopment at Pertamina Patra Niaga, Dian Hapsary Firasati, said that\nthe development of Go Sari is designed to build an ecosystem that\nprovides sustainable benefits across environmental, social, and economic\naspects.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want CSR programmes to not stop at providing facilities or aid,\nbut to evolve into an ecosystem that can operate alongside the\ncommunity,\u201d said Dian.<\/p>\n
According to Dian, Go Sari serves as an example of how environmental\nmanagement can create green jobs, increase community capacity, and serve\nas a learning centre for more people.<\/p>\n
Beyond waste management, the Guwosari TPS3R has also evolved into an\nenvironmental management education centre. A total of 21 agencies and\nuniversities have utilised the Guwosari TPS3R as a learning location for\nwaste management practices.<\/p>\n
The social impact of this programme has also been expanded through\ncollaboration with the Bantul Class IIB Detention Centre. A total of 30\ninmates are involved in activities as eco-furniture artisans, utilising\nrecyclable materials.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe collaboration with the Bantul Detention Centre is an important\npart because we want to ensure the programme\u2019s benefits reach more\ngroups of people,\u201d she said. She emphasised that through the skill of\nmaking eco-furniture, inmates gain space to learn, create, and produce\nproducts with economic value.<\/p>\n
Local Hero of TPS3R Guwosari, Hendry, expressed appreciation for the\nsupport from Pertamina Patra Niaga, which has accompanied the\ndevelopment of the Guwosari TPS3R into a widely recognised waste\nmanagement and environmental education centre.<\/p>\n
According to Hendry, through the support and commitment of Pertamina\nPatra Niaga, TPS3R Guwosari continues to grow and provide greater\nbenefits to the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, TPS3R Guwosari has also become a waste management learning site\nknown by various groups and agencies, both in Yogyakarta and from\nvarious regions in Indonesia,\u201d said Hendry.<\/p>\n
