        "content": "<p>PT Pertamina Patra Niaga confirms normal fuel distribution in West\nKalimantan following an operational incident involving a fuel tanker\nduring berthing at Jetty 2 Integrated Terminal (IT) Pontianak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Monday (25 May), an explosion occurred on a fuel tanker at Jetty\n2 Integrated Terminal Pontianak. However, we confirm this will not\ndisrupt fuel distribution to the public,\u201d said Edi Mangun, Area Manager\nfor Communication, Relations &amp; CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga\u2019s\nKalimantan Region, in Pontianak on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the company swiftly secured the area and handled operations\nafter hearing a loud noise near the ship\u2019s bow at around 1.17pm WIB.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPertamina Patra Niaga acted quickly to secure the area and manage\noperations to ensure personnel safety and operational security,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the IT Pontianak operational team immediately\napplied emergency procedures, including an emergency shutdown, crew\nevacuation, and monitoring the surrounding area to ensure the situation\nwas under control.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed there were no fatalities, though some crew members\nsustained injuries and received medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Besides ensuring personnel safety, Pertamina also confirmed that the\nfuel cargo on the vessel was safe, thus not affecting the energy\ndistribution chain in West Kalimantan.<\/p>\n<p>Edi explained that Pertalite stock at IT Pontianak is sufficient,\nsupported by floating stock and the next supply ship already in\nPontianak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe confirm fuel stock and distribution remain normal. The public\nneed not worry as energy supply for West Kalimantan is secure,\u201d Edi\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He added that operational mitigation measures are ongoing to ensure\nenergy distribution services are not disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina is also coordinating closely with relevant stakeholders to\nsupport handling and further investigation in line with Health, Safety,\nSecurity and Environment (HSSE) procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The incident is taken seriously by the company as Pontianak\nIntegrated Terminal is a strategic fuel distribution point in West\nKalimantan supporting public and industrial energy needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPertamina is committed to maintaining operational safety while\nensuring uninterrupted energy supply for the public,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
