PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Lepas Pantai Bunyu (PHE LPB) has begun\ndrilling the Tingkilan-001 (TKLN-001) exploration well in Mangkupadi\nvillage, East Tanjung Palas district, Bulungan regency, North\nKalimantan, as part of efforts to support national energy security.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue to invest in exploration to find new oil and gas\nresources and sustain the company\u2019s production. Through the\nTingkilan-001 exploration project, we hope to add oil and gas reserves\nthat will contribute to Indonesia\u2019s energy availability and security,\u201d\nsaid Muhdi Rizal, Drilling Manager for Zone 10, in a statement confirmed\nto ANTARA in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The drilling is part of PHE LPB\u2019s exploration programme in the\nMaratua Working Area, which aims to test the hydrocarbon potential of\nthe Menumbar Formation based on geological studies and subsurface\ndata.<\/p>\n
The exploration well is being drilled vertically using the PDSI #21.2\nrig, which has a capacity of 700 horsepower. It is expected to reach a\nfinal depth of 1,574 metres measured depth (mMD), or 1,554 metres true\nvertical depth subsea (mTVDSS).<\/p>\n
To support the smooth running of the Tingkilan-001 (TKLN-001)\nexploration, PHE LPB had previously held consultations with communities\nnear the project site.<\/p>\n
The consultations were intended to strengthen cooperation and\ncommunication with residents while exploration is under way. The company\nmet with local government representatives at regency, district and\nvillage level, customary and religious leaders, community figures and\nresidents of Mangkupadi village.<\/p>\n
The meetings provided an opportunity to share updates on exploration\nactivities, strengthen coordination during the work, and explain the\nproject\u2019s plans, progress and safety measures.<\/p>\n
