        "content": "<p>PT Pertamina (Persero) and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) have\nsigned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as a strategic step in\ndeveloping a sustainable energy ecosystem based on domestic waste. The\nMoU signing was conducted by Pertamina\u2019s President Director Simon\nAloysius Mantiri and BGN Head Dadan Hindayana at Grha Pertamina,\nJakarta, on Thursday (7\/5\/2026). Through this partnership, used cooking\noil from the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) will be processed\ninto environmentally friendly aviation fuel or sustainable aviation fuel\n(SAF). The programme also forms part of efforts to strengthen national\nfood and energy resilience while supporting Indonesia\u2019s Net Zero\nEmission (NZE) targets through the utilisation of waste based on a\ncircular economy. On that occasion, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana stated that\nthe Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme is one of the largest\nnutritious meal programmes in the world, with around 61.99 million\nbeneficiaries. Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri said\nthat the synergy between Pertamina and BGN is not merely a collaboration\nbut a meeting of two national strategic mandates, namely food and\nenergy. He mentioned that Pertamina is encouraged to build self-reliance\nin the food and energy sectors as outlined in the Second Mission of Asta\nCita. \u201cToday, we see how these two sectors do not operate independently\nbut strengthen each other within an integrated ecosystem,\u201d he said.\nSimon added that one of the key focuses of the collaboration is the\nutilisation of used cooking oil, which has previously been regarded as\nwaste and a source of environmental pollution. \u201cWe turn problems into\nsolutions. This is the essence of the circular economy, and this is\nwhere Pertamina\u2019s role is crucial,\u201d Simon emphasised. The used cooking\noil collection programme will be implemented by Pertamina Patra Niaga\nthrough the UCollect collection machine. Pertamina\u2019s Director of\nTransformation and Business Sustainability Agung Wicaksono stated that\nthe partnership is part of Pertamina\u2019s long-term strategy to strengthen\nlow-carbon business while creating new economic value from domestic\nwaste.<\/p>",
