People's hope is but a dream<\/p>\n

It seems that people have been \"hypnotized\" by the
\ngovernment's promises. Although it is true that President Susilo
\nBambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla have done well
\nto promote peace and clean governance. Unfortunately, SBY and
\nKalla have not been successful in fulfilling the people's
\naspirations.<\/p>\n
The grief and sorrow the people have to endure for so long,
\nespecially after the government raised the fuel prices, are a
\nclear indications of the inability of the President's economic
\nteam to find more humane options by which the country's economy
\ncan be better organized.<\/p>\n
We have witnessed case after case of serious problems; avian
\nflu, polio, dengue, anthrax, rice imports, workers' pay,
\nlegislators' pay, famine in Papua. Those problems should be given
\nmore serious attention and handled in a more professional and
\ntransparent way.<\/p>\n
The question is: Is the government still concerned about the
\npeople's sufferings? For the people at large, the aspirations
\nthat they may live a decent life is but a dream.<\/p>\n
We have heard a lot of debates, discussions and exchanges of
\nideas for that matter, but such activities are not enough and
\nonly get the people nowhere. Instead, the people need concrete
\nactions, true commitments and not just promises.<\/p>\n
