        "content": "<p>People protest over road damage<\/p>\n<p>TANGERANG: Hundreds of angry residents and public minivan<br>\ndrivers protested on Friday over the long neglected potholes<br>\nalong the road connecting Kosambi and Teluk Naga districts in the<br>\nnorthern part of Tangerang regency.<\/p>\n<p>They parked vehicles and formed human barrier, causing chaotic<br>\ntraffic congestion.<\/p>\n<p>\"Almost all main roads in the northern part of the regency are<br>\nseriously damaged. There are many large potholes everywhere,\"<br>\nMamat Cahyadi, one of the protesters told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n<p>The road-block protest would continue until the administration<br>\npromised to repair it, according to Mamat, adding that residents<br>\nwould also refuse to pay taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of police officers sent from the Teluk Naga Police<br>\nstation tried several different methods disburse the crowd, but<br>\nto no avail.<\/p>\n<p>Tangerang Public Works Agency head Hermansyah said the<br>\nadministration had allocated Rp 60 billion from this year's<br>\nbudget for the maintenance of a total of 420 kilometers of roads.<br>\n-- JP<\/p>",
