People begin pouring back into city<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): City residents began crowding railway stations
\nand intercity bus terminals on Friday as they returned from their
\nhometowns after the Idul Fitri holiday.<\/p>\n
\"There were more than 11,000 passengers who arrived at Pasar
\nSenen Railway Station as of 8 p.m., and we expect to have more
\npassengers later in the evening and early in the morning,\" said
\nstation chief Susmiarto.<\/p>\n
The station itself, located in Central Jakarta, was quiet in
\nthe afternoon as most trains were scheduled to arrive later in
\nthe evening from Central and East Jakarta. There was still a
\nsignificant number of departing passengers.<\/p>\n
It was a similar scene at Gambir station, also in Central
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
A number of returning Idul Fitri travelers (in the picture)
\nwas seen lining up outside Gambir Railway Station shortly after
\ndeparting from their trains.<\/p>\n
The stations became busier in the evening with the arrival of
\nthe scheduled trains.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, an official at Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal in
\nEast Jakarta, Rusito, said more than 25,000 passengers had
\narrived.<\/p>\n
\"The terminal is starting to be busy again but everything is
\nunder control,\" he said.<\/p>\n
An official at the Pulogadung terminal, also in East Jakarta,
\nreported the arrival of more than 38,000 passengers.<\/p>\n
Separately, head of the City Public Land Transportation
\nAgency, Buyung Atang, said 37 buses were caught for violating the
\ngovernment-set fare increase.<\/p>\n
\"The agency will consider a temporary license revocation,
\nranging from one month to six months,\" he said at City Hall.<\/p>\n
The agency needed to collect additional data from officials
\nassigned to monitor the buses upon their departure, he added.<\/p>\n
\"We will also request information from the Indonesian
\nConsumers Foundation (YLKI) on fare violations,\" Buyung said.<\/p>\n
The number of returning residents is expected to peak on
\nSaturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n
Buyung estimated 150,000 people would arrive by bus over the
