\nreflects the social conditions prevailing in this country at
\npresent.<\/p>\n
The skyrocketing prices of fuel and basic necessities as well
\nas the hike in electricity rates are causing great concern. The
\neconomic burden of the people is getting heavier.<\/p>\n
Strangely, it is profiteers that have been made scapegoats and
\naccused of hoarding when the fuel prices rose. The people have
\nbeen lulled into believing that the blame should be placed on
\nhoarders or profiteers and not on the economic team of the
\ngovernment, whose failure to improve the country's economy is
\nobvious.<\/p>\n
I therefore propose the following:
\n1. Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri as President of the Republic of
\nIndonesia must take stern measures against the perpetrators of
\ncorruption, collusion and nepotism.
\n2. Indonesians from Sabang to Merauke should not be provoked by
\nrumors which may trigger rioting. Build the spirit of cooperation
\nand mutual help to face the soaring prices of basic necessities.
\n3. People of the younger generation, who spearhead changes,
\nshould not encouraged to be divisive. University students should
\nkeep up their movement to be able to respond to the ongoing
\ncrucial issues.<\/p>\n
