The move aims to enhance visitor safety and comfort at the world-renowned DTW, which averages around 2,000 visitors daily.

Desa Wisata Penglipuran, Bangli, Bali, has begun providing safety
insurance for visitors at no additional cost. ‘The insurance has become
part of the ticket; with this additional insurance, visitors are no
longer charged extra when visiting Penglipuran,’ said Wayan Sumiarsa,
Head of Management of Desa Wisata Penglipuran. Sumiarsa explained that
safety insurance has become a necessity at tourism attractions (DTW),
especially Penglipuran, which on average receives about 2,000 visitors
per day and features road layouts that are quite risky. Thus, the
management and local community hope that the world-renowned tourism
village by UNWTO can make visitors more comfortable when visiting. The
entrance fee remains unchanged: for Indonesian citizens (WNI) Rp15,000
for children and Rp25,000 for adults, and for foreign nationals (WNA)
Rp30,000 for children and Rp50,000 for adults. Corporate Secretary of PT
Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo), Brellian Gema, said in the
collaboration they provide Personal Accident protection included in the
admission ticket, covering death due to accident up to Rp50 million per
visitor, permanent disability (total or partial) up to Rp50 million,
reimbursement of medical costs due to accidents up to Rp5 million,
transport costs due to accidents up to Rp1 million, and inpatient care
allowance of Rp150 thousand per day (maximum 5 days). The state-owned
general insurance company decided to participate in the DTW to address
the growing tourism trend, with a need for experiences that are not only
attractive but also safe. Therefore, together with the ticketing system
operator PT Mitra Kasih Perkasa (MKP), Jasindo presents safety insurance
that is attached to the visitors’ tickets rather than optional. ‘With
this approach, protection is no longer an optional add-on but an
essential part of every travel experience,’ said Brellian. He hopes the
insurer will help Desa Wisata Penglipuran to be known not only as the
world’s best tourism destination but also as a destination that
prioritises visitor safety and comfort through standardised protection.
CEO & Co-Founder of PT MKP, Nicholas Anggada, said the collaboration
is a further step in developing a safer and more integrated digital
tourism ecosystem at Penglipuran. ‘This year marks the fourth year MKP
has been trusted to manage Desa Penglipuran’s ticketing system
holistically; we see that today’s tourist needs go beyond easy
transactions and access, but also a sense of safety while at the
destination,’ he said.
",
