The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that Pemalang\nRegent Anom Widiyantoro allegedly extorted officials within the Pemalang\nRegency Government and private parties in the region, collecting Rp1.98\nbillion to manage the resolution of a case at the anti-graft agency.\nAnom was arrested by the KPK on Tuesday (28\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the investigation team\u2019s tracing, the money collected was then\nused, among other things, for the regent\u2019s personal needs, namely to\nmanage the resolution of a case at the KPK,\u201d said Acting Director of KPK\nInvestigations Achmad Taufik Husein at the KPK\u2019s Red and White Building\nin Jakarta, Thursday (30\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
Taufik explained that the case Anom wanted to resolve was related to\nan ongoing KPK inquiry. \u201cThere was a complaint in Pemalang Regency, and\nit has entered the investigation stage, namely bribery related to\nprojects and positions,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n
He explained that Anom initially asked his confidant, Mohamad Haris\nalias Gus Haris, to meet his brother-in-law with the initials HAN. Anom\nrequested Gus Haris to meet HAN in order to be introduced to the father\nof a police officer named Setya Budi Dias, who was serving at the KPK as\nan administrative staff member, namely Lilik Budi Suprianto.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, Taufik said, Anom and Gus Haris met with Lilik up to\nthree times at restaurants in the Magelang and Semarang areas of Central\nJava. During one of these meetings, Lilik requested a fee of Rp2 billion\nto manage the resolution of the case.<\/p>\n
