Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro has been formally detained by the\nCorruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after being caught in a sting\noperation (OTT) on Tuesday, 28 July, and undergoing intensive\nquestioning.<\/p>\n
Based on observations by CNNIndonesia.com at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih\nbuilding on Thursday (30 July), Anom and three other suspects were\nalready wearing the orange vests characteristic of KPK detainees, with\ntheir hands in handcuffs.<\/p>\n
They were taken to the KPK Detention Centre (Rutan) in a detainee\ntransport vehicle at around 08.34 WIB.<\/p>\n
The three other suspects are Setya Budi Dias Oktavianto, Lilik Budi\nSuprianto, and Mohamad Haris.<\/p>\n
Anom (vest number 191) and Setya (185) will be held at the detention\ncentre at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih building, whilst Lilik (193) and Haris\n(160) will be held at the C1 branch detention centre.<\/p>\n
The KPK will hold a press conference on Thursday (30 July) afternoon\nto explain the chronology of the sting operation and the full\nconstruction of the case ensnaring Anom and his associates.<\/p>\n
The operation was carried out by the KPK in three locations:\nPemalang, Purworejo, and Jakarta. A total of 21 people were\narrested.<\/p>\n
Anom and four other individuals whose identities have not been\ndisclosed were arrested in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Of that number, 12 people were taken to the KPK offices for further\nquestioning. One of them is Anom\u2019s wife, Noor Faizah Maenofie, who holds\nwitness status.<\/p>\n
In addition, the KPK enforcement team also secured evidence,\nincluding cash amounting to more than Rp2 billion.<\/p>\n
In parallel, the KPK has also sealed premises that will later be\nsearched. One of the places sealed is the regent\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
