        "content": "<p>Batam, Kepri \u2014 PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) Batam\nBranch, Kepulauan Riau, predicts that the Lebaran 2026 exodus by sea\nfrom Batam to Belawan, Medan will peak on 16 and 19 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Edwin Kurniansyah, Head of Pelni Batam Branch, when contacted in\nBatam, Kepulauan Riau, on Friday, said the two schedules use the same\nvessel, KM Kelud, serving the Batam-Belawan route.<\/p>\n<p>According to Edwin, the passenger load factor for the two schedules\nis still around 75 percent. \u201cNot full yet, currently about 75 percent,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that ticket sales are continuing gradually, so there is\nstill an opportunity for people to travel during the exodus on these\nschedules.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the applicable Passenger Ship Safety Certificate (SKKP), KM\nKelud has a normal capacity of 2,607 passengers and an emergency\ncapacity of up to 3,457 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to KM Kelud, Pelni also operates KM Nggapulu, with a\nnormal capacity of 2,138 passengers and an emergency capacity of 2,955\npassengers.<\/p>\n<p>KM Nggapulu, Edwin said, will be an additional vessel bound for\nBelawan on 15 March and for Tanjung Priok on 18 March.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, during this year\u2019s mudik period there are also a number of\nfree mudik programmes facilitated by companies and institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There is a free mudik programme from Persero Batam for departures on\n16 March 2026 to Belawan with a quota of 250 passengers,\u2019 Edwin\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He also said there is a similar programme offered by Telkomsel, for\ndepartures on 18 March 2026 to Tanjung Priok with a quota of 200\npassengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You can contact and check the terms and conditions offered by each\npromo provider,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, nationally, Batam is expected to be one of the busiest\ndeparture ports during this year\u2019s Lebaran transport period. Batam ranks\nthird after Makassar and Balikpapan.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the busiest routes, the predicted busiest routes include\nBatam-Belawan, Belawan-Batam, Balikpapan-Surabaya, Kumai-Semarang, and\nMakassar-Surabaya.<\/p>",
